No socks. No service.

I love moccasins. Germans love boots.

I walk to work in my tennis shoes, wool socks, and leg warmers (yes, I am quite the fashion statement). When I get to work, I slip on my comfy mocs and it immediately makes the workday more relaxing; it’s like I’m wearing slippers around the office.

Without fail, someone will comment on them, and usually it’s someone I don’t usually talk to. It’s always the same: “You don’t have on any socks!” To which I reply, “I know, I need to buy some boots.” Then we both go about our days again.

My secret is that I’m not going to stop wearing my mocs. I’ve looked at boots, but they all look so…German. I’m not ready for them yet. Although my friend did make fun of me the other weekend when I had on snow boots, sweatpants and my oversized North Face jacket (again, not winning any fashion awards) and I realized I’m totally unprepared for winter.

I keep holding out hope that February and March will fly by and the need for boots will be no more.

I have seen the sun multiple times this week…there’s hope!
